President's Message As of July 13, it is official: I am the new president for this chapter! I am very excited to take on this role and am so grateful to everyone who made the installation one of the most fantastic meetings in this chapter's history! When I first joined ISES three years ago, I did not think I would be taking on this role so quickly, but Norwegian poet and playwright Henrik Ibsen said it best: “A community is like a ship; everyone ought to be prepared to take the helm.” Ibsen is often referred to as "the father" of modern drama and in many ways, ISES is like a dramatic movie. You have heroes and villains, an ever changing plot (like our monthly meetings) and of course, little or no budget to create a show-stopping, award-worthy event that will make everyone want to see it! That is one of my goal’s this year as president: to make this chapter the best it can be by promoting its members while increasing membership, and bringing the latest industry trends and education to South Florida. Please help me take this chapter to the next level, whether you want a leading role or a behind the scenes position. I need to hear all the critics’ opinions both positive and negative to make this work. To my new board of directors: this is going to be an amazing year!
